N-rated approved
Porsche works with tyre makers to develop tyres tuned for each model, and the approved tyre carries an N marking on the sidewall, N0 for the first specification, then N1, N2 and so on for later revisions. An N-rated tyre is engineered for the Porsche's handling, steering response and high-speed stability, so fitting a non-N-rated tyre changes the exact behaviour the car was designed around. A non-N-rated tyre cannot replicate the Porsche-tuned handling the chassis relies on. Most Porsche models run staggered fitments with a much wider rear tyre, and the Taycan electric model carries a higher load index for the battery weight.
